Repainting Ariel
After sorting out the paint, brushes, and other bits and pieces I set to with preparing Ariel for a repaint. I rubbed down and applied two coats of Craftmaster Primer over the 18th and 19th.
I then started to prepare the sides and rear bulkhead for repainting.
The rear bulkhead red oxide was in a very good condition for its age so only need a good sanding where as the cabin sides had suffered with only being protected by the red oxide paint. This was easy to remove with a 4 inch scraper blade, followed up with a good sanding to flatten the steel work
Unfortunately, due to the apalling weather on Sunday I wasn't able to do any painting but I will visit Ariel during the week in the evenings to continue and hopefully complete the work.
