One of the first jobs I wanted to do with Ariel was to cover the hold. This is primarily to stop the rain from gathering in the hold but I also wanted something which would look good. A couple of weeks ago a mate of mine bought his friend down who owns and runs a company which makes custom blinds and awnings for fancy coffee shops and the like. After measuring up, and quoting a very good price I went ahead with an order for one piece of black PVC canvas material measuring approximately 30ft by 7ft.
With the help of my mate this has now been fitted over the hold and has been secured temporarily in place with rope. There is a little work still left to do which is to raise the cover slightly to ensure the rain water runs off and to also secure the cover with a more appropriate looking rope.
