An early start of 4.30AM on Saturday morning saw me heading up Stoke on Trent locks, arriving at Harcastle where I was waved straight into the tunnel. A slow trip down Cheshire Locks due to the slow moving weekend traffic and having every lock set against us. We arrived in Middlewich for around 7PM.
On the Sunday, we set off at a later time of 6AM having a bit of a lie in, and had a slow run down Middlewich Three due to having no water at all in the second pound due to somebody leaving half a paddle open the night before. I eventually managed to get into the third lock after bouncing along the bottom and after dropping down Big Lock, had a quick and uneventul trip over to Anderton. I went into the lift at 11.45AM and was tied up in Yarwoods for just before 1PM.
