Middlewich to Braunston
After attending the Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival on Ariel, I made an early set start of 4.30am from just above Kings Lock in Middlewich, heading towards Braunston in the company of Kerry. We made good time up Cheshire Locks stopping for a quick shower at Wheelock, a quick pop into Malkins Bank to check on the progress of Walton, and for a bite to eat at Lock 57. Another short wait at Harecastle before heading through the tunnel and tying up at Festival Park for around 3PM.

A late start of around 8am today as Kerry had to catch the train back to Rugby from Stoke on Trent. I tied up for a bit of shopping whilst passing through Stone, and then continued on to Rugeley where I tied up for the night, arriving by about 8pm.

An earlier start of 6am saw me leaving Rugeley, and heading through Kings Bromley where I passed the recently relaunched Big Woolwich motor Chertsey. I then continued on to Fradley Junction where I stopped for a quick shower and a chat to Jim and Ian on Empress & Success at about 8.30. Later on I was passed by Chertsey, but caught them up and passed them later on at Huddlesford Junction. I finally stopped at the bottom of Alvecote.

I woke at around 4am to a very misty but wonderful morning and by 4.45am I had gone though the two bottom locks of the Atherstone flight. On my way up I passed George Boyle at about 5.50am in a short pound a few locks up who I think had stopped for breakfast! I continued on through Suttons Stop and onto Brinklow for around 3pm to meet Kerry who is working at Oxon Boat Painters. I tied behind FMC's Cactus and Ling for the night.

Another later start today as Kerry didn't start work until 9.30. I set off and after a quick stop at Newbold to visit the shops, and a quick run up Hillmorton, arrived in Braunston for about 4pm. I tied up alongside Tycho with the other tugs at the entrance to Braunston Marina ready for the Braunston Historic Boat Gathering.
