Argghh!

Why is it that every time I log into my blog, I am inundated with about 300 or more comments awaiting moderation. It wouldn’t be so bad if they weren’t ALL spam!

Boat Moving

One of my friends who I know through boating has been really ill over the past couple of months, and hasn’t been out of hospital long, so, with knowing about the Rowing Race taking place this Saturday, I phoned him the other night to offer a hand, if he should need it, in moving his boat away from where it’s currently moored in the middle of the race circuit! I arranged to meet Alistair at 4pm today, but with the traffic not being as bad as I thought it would be I was there with plenty of time to spare at 3.30pm but I had only just beaten Alistair to his boat as he was still unlocking the boat.

Originally we had agreed for both of us to bring the boats down to the temporary mooring but when I arrived, although he’d been out a bit earlier in the day, really wasn’t well enought to be stood out on the back of the boat in the cold and was worried about getting back later when it would be even colder, and in the dark so with that said, we then re-arranged the plans.. Alistair would return home leaving me to get the boat moved which I didn’t mind at all.

It’s only a short run from his mooring to the temporary mooring the boat is occupying at the moment but never the less, it was a nice little cruise just as it started to go dark. The engine ran fine after being stood for about 3 months and the batteries were charging OK.

I’m currently on the boat as I type, just a few down from Alistair as I will need to return it to his moorings before dark, after the race has finished.
