Ariel on Dock
Ariel was pulled out of the water for me at about 2PM on Friday. As soon as I finished work at 3PM I had planned to go straight down to the yard but unfortunately problems with the car meant I didn't get there until 5PM. As soon as I arrived I started cleaning off the hull, which I finished off on Saturday afternoon. I then went along the hull with a brush filling in the awkward places that are unreachable with a roller such as around the guards and rivets. On Sunday I managed to get around again with the brush before going around the whole boat with a roller giving it a good covering.
Update - 29th April 2010
After putting a couple of coats of blacking on, attention then turned to rubbing down the uneven bitiumen plastered onto the side, this was done and has been repainted using bitumen again. I have also painted between the guards around the back end, and painting up the fore end. This was rubbed down last weekend and was painted up on Tuesday and I am very pleased with the results so far and I have booked a slot on Friday for Ariel to be put back in the water at around noon.
