An early start of 4.45am saw me well on my way on the last leg of the Bridgewater, past Preston Brook Junction and through Preston Brook Tunnel and Dutton Stop Lock for 6.30am. I moored briefly at Saltesford tunnel whilst waiting for the correct time, and then carried on to Middlewich, meeting Ian on the Little Woolwich Pavo along the way, who I locked up through Big Lock with. I made a short stop in Middlewich itself to meet a friend and to get some lunch.
Worked up Middlewich Three and finally Wardle Lock in good time. I was pleasantly delayed whilst talking to Maureen, before going along the Wardle arm, Barbridge bound. I arrived just before 8pm and tied on the first mooring opposite The Jolly Tar pub.
As the final destination was Henhull, there was no rush and a quick dash "around the corner" at just after 11am the next day saw me moored up at Henhull, and thanks to John I was back home for 1pm.
