I was up at around 6.30, and after getting everything in order, set off to Anderton with a brief stop off in Northwich for water. I had pre-booked my passage through the Lift, so after waiting for around 30 minutes for the BW guys to get the oil flushed around, I went up onto the canal and was winding at Anderton for about 9.30AM to head north. I had an uneventful trip along the northern T&M passing only the occasional boat, with another wait for the correct timing at Preston Brook tunnel which I went through at 12 noon.
Eventually reached my planned overnight stopping place at Dunham where I tied alongside a friends boat. Later on in the evening as a local boat was passing, their engine cut out and would refuse to start for no obvious reason so I reversed back to the winding hole, winded, then reversed back to pick them up to take them a couple of miles to their mooring. I arrived back, and after typing up the boat had a pleasant evening in The Vine.
A late start on Sunday morning, which getting back to Sale mid afternoon where I sorted out the boat for next weekend when I am due out in dock.
